Dr John Kok BSc(Med) MBBS(Hons) (UNSW) FRACP
Dr Kok is an experienced specialist adult Endocrinologist. He is a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) Endocrinologist at Canterbury Hospital and Kareena Private Hospital.
Dr Kok was awarded with the Australian Students Prize for Excellence in the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC), graduated in Medicine with Honours from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and subsequently undertook dual physician specialist training in Endocrinology and Nuclear Medicine through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). He trained at a number of large tertiary teaching hospitals in Sydney at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including St Vincent's Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Concord Hospital, Liverpool Hospital and Westmead Hospital.
He has extensive experience in the management of all adult Endocrine disorders, with special interests in diabetes, thyroid disease and osteoporosis, having published and presented in peer reviewed journals and conferences. His experience as a dual-trained Endocrinologist and Nuclear Medicine Physician, with skills in interpreting thyroid scans, bone mineral density (BMD) scans and other Endocrinology-related diagnostic nuclear imaging, strengthens his expertise in managing these conditions.
Dr Kok is a member of the Australian Diabetes Society, Endocrine Society of Australia and the Endocrine Society (USA). He is registered with the Medical Board of Australia as a specialist medical practitioner.
